Hey! OsloZouk Team here!

We are a small team of people who love Zouk! Our mission is to spread the joy of this amazing dance style and grow the community in Oslo. We are not a dance school, but we do collaborate with other dance schools whenever we host workshops, bootcamps or socials.

We usually like being behind the scenes and make it all about you guys, but it is nice that you get to know us better. So, here is a little bit about us!

As always, Keep Calm and Zouk On!

Zouk for me is...

In 2012 Alexandra took her first zouksteps at the birthplace of zouk - Brazil! At the Ramalhos Dance Academy she quickly fell in love with this beautiful dance and the music hit her right in the heart. But best of all, were the warm and including people in the zouk-community. Once she was back in Oslo she quickly became a part of the Moments Dance Company which was the leading school for Brazilian Zouk at the time.

She has taken several teacher-courses in Canada, Brazil and Netherlands, but since she mainly prefers to stay behind the scenes, she started to organize zouk events with international artists in Oslo instead. Alexandra loves to travel the world, and never slips a chance for those zouk-highs along the road. Her vision is to share her love for zouk by spreading knowledge and creating a place for Zoukers of Oslo to meet more frequently.

FUN FACT: Don’t be fooled by her resting b*tch face! She’s actually a very kind and huggable person who wants people to  have a good time during her events.

Petter

DJ & Teacher

In January 2013, Petter discovered a new passion - Brazilian Zouk. He dedicated few years to intense training and dancing around the world while working with many amazing teachers. When he came back to Oslo he joined Moments Dance Company's teachers team and together they built Norway's biggest zouk school with great success.

Petter is not only a teacher and a dancer, he is also a DJ. Being an experienced musician, becoming a DJ was a natural evolution in his zouk journey. Petter has always enjoyed sharing ways to help others to improve as it’s something he really loves doing.

Through the years and until today, Petter has been a very active, hardworking zouk enthusiast helping to build the Zouk Oslo Norway scene, while traveling all around the world to learn more about zouk. His biggest wish is to contribute to a unique and special energy that only zoukers can create together. To say that he loves Zouk is an understatement.

FUN FACT: He loves bananas.

Zouk for me is - to feel the dance, feel the music and to embrace the synergy/connection with my partner.

Zouk is my free space where I can truly be myself. The best feeling is when that song hits right, and you feel that bom chik chik in your whole body and mind.

Katya started her zouk journey back in 2017. She fell completely in love when she saw Petter and Julia dancing at one of the OSI Pardans parties, and shortly after started attending their classes at Moments Dance Company. Since 2017 she has been on and off, casual dancer, BUT it all changed in late 2021.

2021-22 was her most active Zouk year(s) ever. Several milestones were reached!

  • First ever international festival abroad - the Warsaw Festival.

  • Then to Helsinki and Madrid Zouk Festivals.

  • First private classes with international pro artists.

After the Warsaw Festival she has decided that people of Oslo HAVE to know about Zouk! She wanted to share the joy and uniqueness of this beautiful couple dance, so she decided to make an Instagram for Zouk in Oslo. She has always loved documenting moments and just being creative in general, so combining Zouk with her hobbies was a match made in heaven.

FUN FACT: She has seen 300+ anime series since 2016.
